In January of 2011 a real life Angel was born. She came into this world with a full head of dark curly hair, the most beautiful big doe eyes and the sweetest smile! She won over everyone who met her. Her name is Amelie Fira Ives. Amelie was a trooper, being hauled around from Virginia Beach, to Texas to Iowa and California. She let me prop her up and take pictures of her and my son Axe. She loved her mommy & daddy and baby brother!
Amelie is the daughter of one of my best friends/couples The Ives. Amelie has a laugh that was contagious, and she was a perfect snuggle bug in my arms.
While her daddy deployed I was able to spend good quality time with Amelie aka Lulu aka Lulu Buns aka Amelita. She had many nicknames but I’ll always call her Lulu.
Lulu had many special people in her life including her GiGi, and grandpa being among her favorites, her brother Bravery Jon Thomas, her best friend Ayzia, her Aunts, Uncles and cousins and countless other family members, friends, nurses, etc. When Lulu was almost 5 years old she was diagnosed with Pineal Blastoma. I will never forget that week, it was August 2015. Her mommy aka Tiggs text me and told me that Lulu wasn’t feeling well and to say a prayer for her. I was pulling out of my driveway that day. Not sure where I was headed but I remember being on our dirt road and I had a sinking feeling in my stomach. I called her and asked what was going on. She said that Lulu wasn’t feeling well, she hadn’t eaten in a few days and that she had a fever. Within a couple of days is when she called me from the hospital. She had waited in the ER for several hours until they gave her an answer of why she wasn’t feeling well. Then the unthinkable happened, Lulu had a seizure. This gave the doctor’s direction to see what was going on with her brain. She sure enough had a tumor. This was the start of a battle for the next 2 years. This battle had many ups and downs but one thing stayed consistent. Amelie Fira Ives the Warrior Elite FOUGHT like a lion. She stayed so strong and taught everyone who loved her different lessons. She taught me that God is the only one in charge, and to never stop believing in Him. She taught me that God’s blessings are on His time, not ours. She taught me that Angels are in fact real. She taught me to love more and to cherish time with our loved ones more. She also taught me that love never ends. The feeling that her mommy, daddy and brother have will never end. The love they have for her will be everlasting. The love that we have for her is everlasting. She taught me to embrace that love and never let go.
Amelie just celebrated her 8th birthday, maybe not with her mom and dad in person but she did in spirit. She was able to celebrate with her uncle JT dancing and giggling in Heaven.
Amelie Fira we love you! Happy Angel Birthday sweet girl 💕
